Class Description: Intro to K9 Nose Work®

NE Portland/Vancouver (alternating location): Saturdays 11:30-1pm

Class Dates: 9/12, 9/19, 10/3, 10/10, 10/31


Vancouver: Tuesdays 8:30-10am

Class Dates: 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 10/6, 10/13


Space is limited!

  • In this class, dogs work on "primary" (food or toy search/rewards) only.
  • This class is for dogs new to nose work or for those who may want to re-introduce a dog to K9 Nose Work®.
  • Dogs in this class work on primary only (food or toy search/reward). Odor is not introduced at this level.
  • The class builds a strong foundation and is a prerequisite for introduction to odor.
  • The class series includes five sessions and you are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions.
  • You may repeat the class series multiple times - in fact, the more you do, the better foundation your dog will have!
  • The class is a mixture of lecture, discussion, and searching.
  • Dogs will remain crated in your vehicle during class, except when it's your dog's turn to search.
  • In all classes, we strive to provide a safe space for dogs. Please keep dogs at least six feet apart at all times and use visual barriers when available.
  • Video recordings may be taken during class for training purposes. By registering for a class you agree to limited use of class videos for educational purposes.

Class Description: Introduction to Odor

  • In this class we will introduce dogs to odor and continue to focus on foundational training.
  • This class is for dogs that have already completed at least one series of Intro to K9 Nose Work®, or for those who may want to re-introduce an experienced dog to nose work.
  • Dogs will be introduced to birch, anise and clove odors in this class.
  • The class series includes five sessions and you are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions.
  • You may repeat the class series multiple times.
  • The class is a mixture of lecture, discussion, and searching.
  • Dogs will remain crated in your vehicle during class, except when it's your dog's turn to search.

Class Description: Continuing Nose Work

In this class we'll work on building the skills needed for competition and continuing to strengthen foundational training. The prerequisite for this class is instructor approval and successful completion of at least one series of Intro to Odor.

Class Schedule:  Continuing Nose Work Classes are held in NE Portland and Vancouver on Saturdays 8:30-10am and 10-11:30am
